A Visit to Petco

This morning mom and dad took me to Petco. They told me I had to be on my best behavior because of the “incident” the last time I was there. It was really no big deal. A strange woman I had never seen before bent over to pet my head and, without thinking, and because I didn’t recognize her, I kind of snapped at her. I mean, I didn’t bite her or anything, but I did scare the lady. I think mom and dad were disappointed by my reaction, but how would you feel if a giant person bent over and looked as though they were trying to strike you? For all I knew she was attacking daddy so I did what any self-respecting Westie should do-send out a warning. Jeez, everyone over reacted.

Anyway, today I was approached again by one of the Petco employees, and this time I was cautious. She asked me if I liked treats, and what can I say. Treats is the magic word. She offered me one and I started wagging my tail, and she fed me one of my favorites. I put her right in the book of Pettitte. Then, when we went to check out she thought I was so cute (she even commented how soft my coat was) she only charged daddy half for the bag of treats we picked out, mostly vanilla creams. I think mom and dad are being especially nice to me because they are going on a trip. I have seen luggage and other hints that such an event is happening. I will report more on this as I find out exactly what is going on.

A Visit With My Cousins

Yesterday we went to my Aunt Randee’s house to visit White Cloud, Rosie and Precious. There were humans there too, including Uncle Michael, Grandma Florrie, Aunt Randee, Mom and Dad. It was especially good to see White Cloud again. He reminded me of the time I slept over there when I was little. I cried for my daddy at 2AM and the humans couldn’t console me. White Cloud came over and put his paw around me and hugged me. I felt so much better. He is an American Eskimo and very handsome.

I also saw Rosie, a very large Golden Retriever, and Precious, a Shetland Sheepdog. They are nice and friendly, but White Cloud is my favorite. It was a fun day and I got a little chicken salad, licked some plates, ran around the yard and sat on my daddy’s lap.

Pettitte’s Rant

Daddy left this morning. He doesn’t usually leave on Sundays, but he left anyway. Something about mommy needing gas. Before he left he gave me treats. They were vanilla creams. The treats were good, but I was sad he was leaving. Mommy and Daddy put on Animal Planet, but there was a stupid show on with no dogs or cats, just alligators.

This was a busy week for Mom and Dad, but I am lucky to have treats and the Animal Planet. I love Dogs 101 and Planet’s Funniest Videos. I think Victoria is mean. She is always disciplining dogs and not loving them enough. I notice that on that show she never recommends what I do with my daddy. Every minute of every of day when he is home I follow him everywhere and as soon as he settles down I cuddle up into his arms and start licking his thumb. The poor guy has a stinky thumb and it needs hours of licking. We watch TV together and Mommy joins us. When Daddy turns to the left he cuddles with Mommy, but if he turns to the right he cuddles with me. Mostly he cuddles with me. In the morning when he wakes up for coffee I do my stretches and by the time he has had his first cup I come upstairs to go out. Daddy and I think dogs would behave much better if they were as close as we are and slept in each other’s arms.

Missing Daddy

If my daddy doesn’t come home soon I will howl so loudly the shepherds next door will be afraid. I don’t want to be alone any longer. I am a very sad little Westie girl. Please come home daddy…

Waiting Patiently for Mom and Dad

I am sadly slugging all alone on a Sunday afternoon wondering where my mom and dad are. It is dark and lonely and I am very bored. I hope they will be home soon.

I would love to be out playing in the yard!
