About Pettitte

I was born in a puppy mill in Hungary on Sept. 13, 2004. I was shipped to New York when I was only 4 weeks old. I arrived cold and lonely and was immediately put into a nursery to heal my kennel cough. The very next day a man looking for a Westie puppy came to see me. The caretaker told him I had arrived alone from Hungary and I guess the man felt sorry for me. He held me in his arms and I remember him saying “That’s the one!”

I then reached up with my mouth and clamped my teeth down on his nose claiming him to be my daddy. There is a picture of this moment in my gallery. My daddy came to visit me every weekend until I was old enough to leave the nursery.

We played with balls and he brought his mother and brother to meet me. He built an enclosure for me at home and I celebrated my first Christmas in my new home.

Ever since then my daddy has been my brother, my best friend and my human, and I have been the daughter he always wanted. Daddy is a giant New York Yankee fan and he named me after his favorite pitcher Andy Pettitte, even though he was signed by the Houston Astros at the time. Daddy said he would be back and he was right.

    • I am looking forward to our week together even though I will be missing my daddy. You probably shouldn’t have mentioned we do things we shouldn’t be doing, but I always enjoy my time with you.

  2. Dear Pettitte,
I am suprised to hear that you are from Hungary. Do you remember it at all?

    • I remember Hungary very well. It was cold and damp and there were mean people. They said I didn’t fit in at the puppy mill and decided to ship me off to the United States. I learned the language on the way over and everything worked out well. I could not have been luckier to meet your uncle and the whole family.
